What Happens Beyond Daily Gratitude?

Is gratitude still trendy? It was for a while there, it really had a moment in the wellness world, sometime between green smoothies and mercury in retrograde. 

You'd probably agree that gratitude can never go out of style, but what happens when you've gone past the journaling, blessing-counting, and affirmations? What happens when gratitude is seeped in to your every waking moment, even on the hardest days? When you can't step outside without appreciating the gift of a new day, looking at the faces of your children without tearing up, or simply thinking "damn, life is so great" all the time? What then? 

When mindful presence, appreciation, and simplicity become the norm... life becomes easy. Every problem is solvable, every person radiating with inner light, every experience rich with meaning and possibility. 

Gratitude is like an anchor to a drifting mind. 

When it's no longer a conscious effort but rather as effortless and consistent as breathing, a new layer of being is revealed. Time can slow down in the best moments, deepening and stretching that goodness for you to enjoy just a little bit longer. Senses are heightened so that what you see is more beautiful, what you smell is transformative, and what you touch is magnetic. Intuition becomes more clear and more powerful so that you are called to more of the good things, and feel psychically repelled by what isn't right. 

It's subtle, but it's what happens. You can tell if you're paying attention, which you're more likely to do if your heart has blossomed with thanks.

How extraordinary. How powerful yet unidentifiable. Invisible. Dismissable to most. 

Be grateful for rain, for sun, for your challenges and the lessons they hold, for the people around you, for food, for a roof over your head and the soft pillow you sleep on, for running water, for books, for jasmine tea, for the ocean, for birdsongs, and for consciousness with which to experience it all. There is so much to be thankful for.

There are wonders all around you, blessings in every moment, you just have to wake up.

Wake up.
